What Tickhound does

Tickhound finds what is wrong with a Minecraft server and tells you how to fix it.

Overview

Tickhound is a diagnostics and monitoring platform for Minecraft server owners, developers and networks. You give it a server (an address, a Pterodactyl link or some files), it runs a set of checks, and it reports problems by severity — with a plain explanation, the detected and expected values, and a recommendation.

The flow is always Connect → Scan → Understand → Fix → Monitor.

The checks

Every check is listed on the Diagnostics page, with what it looks for and how serious it is by default.

What it covers

  • Performance: TPS, MSPT, CPU, RAM, Java heap, garbage collection
  • Plugins: missing dependencies, conflicts, version compatibility, load errors
  • Network: DNS, ports, proxy architecture, origin exposure
  • Security: backend and RCON exposure, online mode, proxy forwarding
  • Configuration and compatibility: view distance, JVM flags, Java vs Minecraft version
